Thank you for coming out and supporting the 770 GOOD LAW firm at the 2018 Atlanta Hong Kong Dragon Boat Festival on September 8th! For the first year ever, our firm participated in the annual boat race in front of thousands of spectators and competitors.
The festival is the largest Hong Kong celebration of the year, where many come to participate in or watch the boat races, enjoy various entertainment and cultural events, and try food from all around the world.
A LITTLE ABOUT DRAGON BOAT RACES
Dragon boat racing is an exciting international sporting and cultural event that is held in Europe, Asia and North America. This was the 8th year that the festival took place in Atlanta. The race was mostly comprised of teams from different companies, groups, universities, and friends looking to have a good time together.
A dragon boat is a watercraft powered by the individuals on it using long paddles. Dragon boat racing has been around for over 2,000 years in southern China. The boat itself is traditionally made out of different kinds of wood, but for competition purposes, some are made of carbon fiber and other lightweight substances. During competitions, the boats are typically decorated with a dragon head or tail.
