Following Too Closely Collision

Case Study

Case Overview

Our client was traveling south on Sandy Plains Road with her three children in the left-most straight lane, when a white car pulled out suddenly in front of them. In order to avoid a collision, our client quickly applied their brakes, and was successful in avoiding rear-ending the vehicle in front of them. However, the vehicle behind the client's car was following too closely, and despite the defendant vehicle also trying to avoid a collision with the rear of our client, they did not have enough time to change lanes and dodge the collision. The defendant vehicle's driver-side front bumper ended up colliding with our client's passenger-side rear bumper.
